Where to find it

  • Assessment pageChanges since last assessment: the full comparison with the previous completed assessment of the same customer.

  • Customer pageTrend: Secure Score and open findings by severity over the last assessments, and a summary of the latest changes. Select View changes to open the comparison.

  • Assessment history and Assessments: a Changes column such as +2 new · −3 resolved once a comparison exists.

  • The HTML report has a What changed chapter right after the Executive briefing, and the Word and PowerPoint files add a Changes since last assessment page and slide.

Compare with a different assessment

  1. Open the assessment you want to review.

  2. In Changes since last assessment, open Compare with and pick another completed assessment of the same customer.

  3. Use the chips or the All changes, New, Resolved, Worse, Better and Still open filters to focus the list. Choose Previous assessment to go back to the default.

What the labels mean

  • New: An open finding (Fix now, Improve, Consider or Upgrade) that the previous assessment didn't report, or reported as Healthy.
  • Resolved: A finding that was open before and is now Healthy or no longer reported.
  • Worse / Better: Still open, but its urgency moved up (for example Improve → Fix now) or down.
  • Still open: Open in both assessments at the same urgency. A count inside the title, such as 3 admins without MFA becoming 5 admins without MFA, is shown as a change of that same finding, not as a new one.
  • Headline metrics: Secure Score, MFA registration, privileged role holders, Conditional Access policies, device compliance, licence seats and more. Green means better (for example Secure Score up, fewer unassigned seats), red means worse; grey counts, such as users or guests, are neither.
  • Configuration changes: Conditional Access policies, privileged role assignments (including permanent → eligible), apps with high-risk permissions, Intune policies, mail flow rules and connectors, and sharing settings that were added, removed or changed.

Fair comparisons

If an area was collected in only one of the two assessments (for example Exchange was skipped last time), its findings are not counted as new or resolved. The comparison says which areas were left out.

Troubleshooting

It says "Not available for older assessments"

Comparisons need data that every assessment records from the change-tracking release on. Assessments run before it can't be compared; the next assessment of the customer will be compared with the one after it. Failed, cancelled and deleted assessments are never used as the baseline.

It says "Nothing to compare with yet"

This is the first completed assessment of the customer. Run another one (or schedule them) to see changes.

The Changes column is empty for some assessments

The badge appears once the comparison has been calculated, which happens automatically when an assessment completes or when someone opens its Changes section.
