Offboarding a customer
Offboarding permanently deletes all of a customer’s assessments, reports and files and frees its customer slot. Runs already used are not refunded.
- Who can do this
- Admin or Owner
- Plan
- All plans
- Time
- 1 minute
Before you start
- No assessment is currently running for this customer.
- You have downloaded any reports or deliverables you want to keep.
Steps
Open Customers and select the customer.
Select Offboard in the page header.
Read the confirmation and select Offboard and delete data.
What offboarding does
- Permanently deletes every assessment, report, Word and PowerPoint file and collected data for the customer, and its module settings. This can’t be undone.
- Frees the customer slot: it no longer counts toward your customer limit.
- Stops its schedule (the last result shows “Stopped — customer offboarded”).
- Runs already used this period still count toward your quota.
- The customer disappears from your customer list. Adding the same tenant again later starts fresh, with no history.
Important
Offboarding doesn't remove our apps from the customer's tenant. To fully disconnect, the customer's administrator deletes the M365 Assessment enterprise applications (how).
Troubleshooting
Offboarding fails because a run is in progress
Wait for the assessment to finish (or fail), then offboard.
